Short carcass trade successful at The Tire Cologne

Wendlingen, June 14.06.2018, XNUMX At the Cologne trade fair The Tire Cologne, the certified used tire disposal company Kurz Karkassenhandel presented itself in association with other representatives of the ZARE initiative (certified used tire disposal companies). Interested visitors informed themselves at Kurz about sustainable and serious used tire recycling and disposal.

At the joint trade fair stand of the ZARE (Certified Tire Disposal) initiative, Kurz Karkassenhandel, together with other representatives of the initiative, campaigned for the goal of responsible use and recycling of used tires.

A successful trade fair appearance

At the Kurz Karkassenhandel booth, visitors were informed in a variety of ways. "We had exciting conversations and made many new contacts," says Hanna Schöberl, Managing Director of Kurz. "We were also able to use many platforms and channels to provide information about the use and recycling of used tires and to exchange views on developments."

Strong solutions for the industry

The growing problem of the used tire industry was discussed: The three classic ways of recycling old tires, thermal recycling, further use by exporting abroad or by retreading and material recycling have come to a standstill for the amount of approx. 570.000 tons of old tires per year and the scrap tire disposal companies are looking for new ways of recycling. There are good approaches among the ZARE members. In a panel discussion, Hanna Schöberl (KURZ Karkassenhandel), Danny Schwalbe (MRH Mülsener Rohstoff- und Handelsgesellschaft mbH), Dr. Stefan Hoyer (Chemnitz University of Applied Sciences) and Peter Lüdorf (Gummi Berger), moderated by Yorick M. Lowin (BRV), raised awareness of the challenges facing the industry and discussed new solution concepts for the disposal of used tires. The status quo and possible solutions for the use and recycling of used tires were also discussed in the round with the mobility portal Motordialog.de: Reinhard Zweck von Kurz was with Danny Schwalbe (MRH Mülsener Rohstoff- und Handelsgesellschaft mbH), Stephan Rau (wdk) and Falk Müller (Reifen Manufaktur) invited to an interview in the live studio. "Kurz is one of the certified companies that want to ensure that tires are disposed of properly," summarizes Reinhard Zweck. For the future, however, new paths would have to be explored.
