AZUR, the innovation forum for used tire recycling, is a wide-ranging network with a wide variety of companies, all of which are related to the topic of tires. They all find themselves at AZuR across associations and industries in order to drive forward the common goals and future recycling paths with commitment. AZuR stands for Allianz Future Tires.
Die Initiative NEW LIFE is supported by companies and associations whose declared goal is to use recycled material from ELT (End-of-Life-Tyres) as a sustainable raw material for high-quality products with a long service life. With NEW LIFE we want to promote sustainable products and sensitize people to consume consciously and in a resource-saving manner.
The ZARE initiative is an association of 12 certified old tire disposal companies organized in the Federal Association of Tire Trade and Vulcanizing Trades (BRV). It has set itself the task of raising awareness of professional tire recycling in Germany. Under the motto "Together for a clean environment", ZARE wants to make drivers aware of the need to dispose of their used tires properly. More information is available here or in our Movie.
Old tires and rubber residues should be used as valuable resources. We are actively involved in the trade association and support lobbying at national and European level with the aim of recycling as much as possible 100% of the used tires in a meaningful and sustainable way.
We rely on the sun! Our Wendlinger building is equipped with a photovoltaic system with 96 modules. Light energy is converted into electrical energy over an area of around 1.000 square meters. This saves fossil fuels and reduces CO² emissions. In this way, we also contribute to the energy revolution and the promotion of renewable energies.
Instead of "disposable" batteries, we use rechargeable batteries, which not only saves money, but also protects the environment. Batteries must be disposed of as hazardous waste. By using the batteries, we save on this disposal, significantly reduce hazardous waste and save raw materials that would otherwise be lost. By using rechargeable batteries, we avoid buying new ones and save energy, because the production of batteries consumes 40 to 500 times more energy than later use.
We carry out order processing without paper and are thus on the way to a paper-minimised office. By reducing the number of printouts, we save paper and protect the environment. Tire pickup orders or Price inquiries can be sent digitally directly to our office, either through our Contact form or via email.
Despite all the digitization, there is no avoiding having to print things out. We consistently print these out on both sides. In this way we make full use of the paper, albeit printed. This saves natural resources!
The office buildings and halls in Wendlingen and Landau are illuminated with LED lamps. These consume less energy than traditional incandescent bulbs while generating much more brightness. In addition, LED lamps have a longer service life.
In Germany alone, the annual amount of used tires is over 584.000 tons. Scrap tires that are incinerated pollute the atmosphere with fumes and chemicals. Scrap tire fires are very difficult to extinguish, so professional and responsible storage of scrap tires in compliance with regulations is essential. The storage areas at KURZ Karkassenhandel are all completely fenced in. Proper processing and disposal is ecologically necessary and contributes to the preservation of our environment.
That is why we are working intensively and sustainably to ensure that more and more tires are granulated and processed for reprocessing. We are also open to new methods of recycling. We support companies doing research in this field with our knowledge and know-how, e.g. B. at the "Rubber asphalt" project.
The recyclable rubber is used for a wide variety of products. Rubber mats, tires, children's play equipment, seals, vehicle construction and many more. Wherever rubber is processed, rubber waste is also generated. We dispose of any kind of industrial rubber waste competently and professionally.
Every old tire we dispose of is documented in writing. This carefully kept "operations diary" can thus document the quantity and whereabouts of the used tires at any time.
