The disposal of used tires is a demanding task that belongs in professional, experienced hands. Because old tires are not always old tires. The professional distinguishes between carcasses and tread tires: The tread tires has, as the name suggests, a residual profile.

"Rubber asphalt" is quieter, has better drainage ability, is safer and lasts longer. Unfortunately, it has so far only been used very hesitantly in Germany. If this were to change, it would be a big step for the disposal of used tires.
Scrap tires are also an excellent one secondary fuel and are used instead of fossil fuels, such as crude oil and coal, for example in cement works. The use of scrap tires as fuel thus saves valuable, non-renewable raw materials. In addition, the organic pollutants contained in the tires are burned completely and harmlessly at the high temperatures reached in the kilns and when the exhaust air is cleaned.
