For more than 65 years, tires have been his topic. And he hardly missed a section. Starting with tire assembly, through the tire and carcass trade to the issue of disposal of used tires - he always campaigned for the industry through his own company interests. Hardly anyone who doesn't know him. Networking was his forte before the word even existed. His contacts are international and he maintains them to this day. Contacts that last a lifetime is a special feature worth mentioning in today's world. Another special quality that should not go unmentioned: tenacity – Karl Kurz pursued his goals with incredible steadfastness – mostly successfully.
At the end of the year, Karl Kurz will be 89 years old. He is in good health and has now handed over full responsibility for the company to his granddaughter Hanna Schöberl, who has been managing director since 2017 and has been with the company for over ten years.
He looks back on his life's work with satisfaction. He is grateful that he was able to give the industry so many impulses, that he has maneuvered the company through all the ups and downs over the years and that today he has a successor who takes the reins in her hands and the company in his interest continues. Together with his wife Mathilde, with whom he can celebrate their golden wedding anniversary this year, he enjoys his newly won free time.
