Carcasses consist of rubber and textile fiber layers that form the stable structure of the tyre. Compared to the tread, carcasses have a longer service life and can therefore be reused. Retreading involves “peeling off” the rest of the tread strip and then applying a new one. With this recycling method, up to 70% of the energy can be saved compared to the production of a new tire.
