73% of drivers attach importance to environmentally friendly disposal of used tires

Landau, December 07.12.2016th, 60 Around XNUMX million old tires have to be disposed of in Germany alone every year. An immense challenge that requires a great sense of responsibility from end users, dealers and disposal companies. Unfortunately, one has to read again and again about illegal waste tire disposal. Not everyone seems to be aware of the damage they are causing. However, the results of a survey are encouraging.

The survey was commissioned by the ZARE initiative (Certified Used Tire Disposal Company) from the market research institute puls. Around 1.500 private individuals between the ages of 18 and 69 who are responsible for the maintenance of their cars were asked online to answer the question of whether it is important to them how environmentally friendly their old tires are disposed of. At least 73% of those questioned answered yes to this question, 24% were undecided and only 3% stated that they "didn't care" where their old tires went. Surprisingly, older people in particular demonstrate greater environmental awareness: among the over-50s, only 18% ticked the “undecided” box, while among the under-30s, more than a third, namely 34%, chose this answer option, although this age group does will have to bear the consequences for much longer. On the other hand, indifference and disinterest are common to all ages: The proportion of those who are not interested in environmentally friendly disposal is constant at 3%.

Kurz Karkassenhandel, itself a partner of the ZARE initiative and a committed advocate of clean waste tire disposal, welcomes the positive figures. In its disposal facility, Kurz ensures that the discarded tires are processed professionally and sustainably. It was only this year that the fine grinding plant for peeling coils, which is unique in Europe, was put into operation on the company premises in Landau, which processes around two tons of feed material into rubber powder per day when it is in full operation. The material is used in road construction, among other things. If you care about our environment, if you want to make sure that used tires get into the recycling cycle and don't end up in a piece of forest, Kurz is the right address.
