The RECYCLING talk regularly brings together experts from different areas and speaks to them and other interested parties about topics that affect the industry. At the RECYCLING talk on November 30th, there was intensive discussion about how the collection of used tires can be improved and what technological solutions exist for effective recycling. Moderator of this round is Michael Brunn, editor-in-chief of Recycling magazine, as well as Christina Guth, coordinator of the AZuR network, Günther Ihle, Managing Director of RIGDON GmbH and Hanna Schöberl, Managing Director of KURZ Karkassenhandel GmbH, discussed the future of used tire recycling with other interested parties - an important topic for a sustainable world!
With over 3,4 million tons of used tires annually in the EU - around 600.000 tons of which are in Germany - there is an urgent challenge. To date, only around 30 percent of these used tires have been recycled using certified disposal methods. However, a significant proportion is (co-)burned or exported outside the EU.
