Über 65 Jahre waren Reifen sein Thema. Und er hat dabei kaum eine Sparte ausgelassen. Angefangen von der Reifenmontage, über den Reifen- und Karkassenhandel bis hin zum Thema Waste tyre disposal – setzte er sich immer über die eigenen Firmenbelange für die Branche ein. Kaum einer, der ihn nicht kennt. Netzwerken, das war schon seine Stärke bevor es das Wort überhaupt gab. Seine Kontakte sind international und er pflegt sie bis heute. Kontakte, die ein Leben lang halten ist in der heutigen Zeit schon eine hervorhebenswerte Besonderheit. Noch eine besondere Eigenschaft, die nicht unerwähnt bleiben darf: Hartnäckigkeit – mit einer unglaublichen Unbeirrbarkeit verfolgte Karl Kurz seine Ziele – meist erfolgreich.
Karl Kurz turns 89 at the end of the year. He is in good health and has now handed over full responsibility for the company to his granddaughter Hanna Schöberl, who has been Managing Director since 2017 and has been with the company for over ten years.
He looks back on his life's work with satisfaction. He is grateful that he was able to give the industry so much impetus, that he has manoeuvred the company through all the ups and downs over the years and that he now has a successor who is taking the reins and continuing the company in his spirit. Together with his wife Mathilde, who is celebrating their golden wedding anniversary this year, he is enjoying his new-found free time.
