Wendlingen 05.03.2020 The rubber-modified asphalt has now been laid on the premises of Kurz Karkassenhandel in Wendlingen for almost nine months. Every day, lorries and cars arrive and depart from this site and place loads on it. As the weighbridge for the lorries is located in the middle of the site, this area is particularly stressed by the manoeuvring and shearing movements of heavy container vehicles.
Im Mai 2019 wurde der offenporige Asphalt verlegt. Verwendet wurde das selbst produzierte Rubber powder. Das Spezialchemieunternehmen Evonik, das auf diesem Gebiet forscht und die zur Verarbeitung notwendigen Additive wie „VESTENAMER®“ herstellt, war beteiligt. Einschlägige Untersuchungen zeigen, dass Gummiasphalt mit dem Additiv „VESTENAMER®“ problemlos zu verarbeiten ist und entscheidende Vorteile gegenüber anderen Asphaltarten bietet: weniger Spurrinnenbildung, längere Haltbarkeit und besonders bei Verlegung von offenporigen Asphalten eine deutlich geringere Geräuschentwicklung. Der Kirchheimer Straßenbauer Waggershauser hat den gummimodifizierten Asphalt professionell aufgebracht, ohne störende Verklebungen oder Verklumpungen und dabei eine Fülle neuer Erkenntnisse gewonnen. Das Projekt wird von der Ingenieurgesellschaft PTM Dortmund wissenschaftlich begleitet, die als erstes Fazit eine gute Bewertung abgibt und speziell die erfüllten Anforderungen des Tieftemperaturverhaltens in Kombination mit dem härteren Bitumen für das Gebrauchsverhalten eher als positiv bezeichnet.
"After almost nine months in use," says Hanna Schöberl, Managing Director of Kurz Karkassenhandel, "the tarmac still looks like new. We don't see any signs of wear or ruts and will only use the open-pored rubber asphalt in future. We are happy to provide information for companies that want to use this asphalt on their premises. After all, it's a good thing if we can use the tyres sensibly and improve the asphalt at the same time." It is particularly pleasing that the Wendlingen city council is carrying out initial tests in public areas and has equipped a section of Heinrich-Otto-Straße, very close to the Kurz company premises, with rubber-modified asphalt.
