KURZ Karkassenhandel GmbH was recognised as a KLIMAfit company 2024 for its commitment to climate protection as part of a funding programme run by the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of the Environment, Climate Protection and the Energy Sector.
The KLIMAfit programme supports companies on their way to greater corporate climate protection. This involves developing a specific programme of measures to reduce emissions and improve energy efficiency. "As a company, we want to make an active contribution to climate protection in our region and to global climate protection goals," says Hanna Raff, Managing Director of KURZ Karkassenhandel, explaining her participation in the programme. As part of KLIMAfit, the certified waste disposal company was able to draw up a greenhouse gas balance sheet and then develop a programme of measures. With the successful completion of the funding programme, KURZ Karkassenhandel GmbH has now been recognised as a KLIMAfit company 2024. For Hanna Raff, however, the award is no reason to rest on her laurels: "We want to keep improving in the long term. That's why it's important to me that we have set up an internal organisational structure for climate protection in the company and consistently implement potential improvements." KURZ Karkassenhandel has committed to regularly drawing up a greenhouse gas balance sheet and implementing the measures developed.
Sustainable management as a basic principle
Even before participating in the funding programme, KURZ Karkassenhandel was committed to climate protection: the Wendlingen site is equipped with a photovoltaic system and paperless order processing has long been a matter of course for the company. At trade fairs, the waste disposal company relies on a reusable trade fair concept with an environmentally friendly, recyclable trade fair stand. As a certified waste disposal company, sustainability is a fundamental component of KURZ Karkassenhandel's services. Only by disposing of used tyres professionally after thorough inspection is it possible to put each tyre to its best possible use and keep the valuable raw materials in the material cycle for as long as possible.
