Last Friday, an unforgettable day began for the Wendlingen team at 6.30 am. We travelled in minibuses to Landau, where we were warmly welcomed with pretzels and coffee after a traffic jam-free journey.
Patrick Siarsky, our site manager, welcomed us and laid the foundations for the day with an exciting introduction to the most important points of waste legislation. Afterwards, our trainees took everyone on a tour of the yard to present the latest developments.
A particular highlight was the interactive safety briefing, where our drivers and yard staff were able to exchange ideas. Even though our external seminar leader was absent for the Outlook training, we shared our knowledge and skills in Outlook and Excel - a great example of teamwork and how we can best learn from each other!
After a small snack, the practical part of the event began. A CAT employee impressed our experts from the yard with fascinating tricks and helpful tips on excavators, wheel loaders and forklifts. At the same time, our drivers and office staff learnt a lot about resilience, cooperation and customer focus - knowledge that we can integrate directly into our day-to-day work.
The highlight of the day was the finale on the "Neckarsonne" solar ship in Heidelberg. There we not only celebrated the team's successes, but also honoured our employees, who were rewarded for their outstanding reliability and collegiality with a day's special leave. We are particularly proud of Hamza Brahimi, Ranko Josic, Michael Dicki, John Okobia and Robert Kipper, who, thanks to their careful management of their health, remained without sick leave for another year!
This team event showed us once again how strong our team spirit is and what a great community we form. If you would like to become part of a committed team that values team spirit and further training, we look forward to getting to know you!
